Something I’ve Read

It is this kind of sanctimonious attitude among Christian Scientists that truly angers me. When pressed about the preventable deaths of children under Christian Science “care”, Christian Science lecturer Christine Driessen blames it on “secular culture”, and the fact that people seemed to turn away from God. No, those kids died because they didn’t receive medical care that could have possibly saved them in many cases. Christian Scientists are masters of passive aggressiveness, and blaming the victim or society for the undeniable fact that CHRISTIAN SCIENCE DOES NOT HEAL! 1. A bee sting – boo hoo! How about the 5 practitioners that could not heal my husband’s liver cancer. He dedicated 50 years of his life to C.S. and in the end it killed him. |His last words to his family : “I am sorry, I had it all wrong. Of course practitioners would say he wasn’t reading the correct page in S&H, or this, this and that why no healing. Of course my family knows, too, that C.S. DOES NOT HEAL. I love your blogs and they help me so much knowing you have gone through hell, too.

    • Thank you! I’m glad this blog is helping you. That’s a big reason why I started doing this (other than for my own therapeutic purposes, of course). Yes, we’ve all been through various versions of MBE’s hell. Part of the healing is just talking it out…taking out the trash, as it were.
